An AirBnB in Full Bloom

Are you a friend of flowers and color?

If I’m honest, my personal home does NOT have a whole lot of color.  Since designing AirBnBs, I’ve gotten a little more brave with color at home...but not much!  I’ve got grays and whites and greens and pops of yellow at home.  But in The Bright + Blooming Retreat...we went all out with flowers and color!  And it really came out so special.

Would you like the tour?  You got it!  Let’s get started!

LIVING ROOM

When you enter the home through the front door, you walk right into the living room.  And you’re met with lots and lots of colors, two walls with creative and out-of-the-box collages and a leather couch full of comfy pillows to sink into!

As with all of the living rooms in my spaces, there’s a SmartTV and more than one seating option.  There’s a floor lamp, which provides alternative light options and a coffee table.  If you’ve been around for any amount of time, you’ve probably noticed that these are staple items that I incorporate one way or another no matter the size of a space.

BEDROOM

To your right, you’ll find the doorway to one of the three bedrooms. This room has a twin bed.  The super cute metal frame came from Ikea and has been super sturdy. The hanging string lights are also from Ikea- so fun!  A little bedside table with a lamp and a cozy rug to sink your toes into.  This one is simple but efficient.  The rug is especially important because the flooring in the bedroom is tile, so adding that element of coziness was crucial.

KITCHEN

Back to the living room and down a small hallway...you find yourself in the kitchen and dining area.  This kitchen has all the basics: stove, microwave, washer/dryer, full-sized refrigerator.  You’ll also see we’ve got the stacked washer/dryer combo at the end of the kitchen. The cabinets are neatly supplied with all our guests will need for cooking and serving a meal.

DINING AREA

There wasn’t a great spot for a dining table in this one, so we went with a small table I found at my local flea market and kept it simple and understated.  It works well for the space and there are two extra folding chairs tucked away in case this table needs more seating.

BEDROOM

Straight ahead is the bedroom that has a queen bed. It didn’t originally have a queen, we actually started out with three twin beds in this home (which is what you’ll see in the picture below). The bedrooms are all very small, so a queen bed fills the room quite a bit. But we had a guest that requested a queen bed, so we made that arrangement for them and just kept it that way. Honestly, I am a firm believer in having at least one queen bed in an AirBnB...so I’m grateful we were able to make that work.

PRO TIP: In a small bedroom, consider using a daybed set up in order to make a queen bed fit. In fact, I’ve even done twin daybeds in super small or oddly shaped bedrooms so that sleeping arrangements could be made. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

BEDROOM

Back in the kitchen area, there’s one last bedroom that is accessed from the kitchen.  This room is probably my favorite in this little home.  I went with the twin size of the wooden bed frame offered by Ikea.  You guys...this bed frame is SO TOUGH!  It’s solid wood and simple to put together.  It won’t take long for your to realize, as a host, that beds need to be sturdy.  And this little one is just that.  I love the floor to ceiling green curtains and that mustard yellow rug!

The simple comforter accents the bold color choices so well and that little bedside table is styled so sweetly.  You can’t see it in the picture, but there’s another floor lamp in the corner and good lighting options right beside the bed.  This room also has another good sized closet.

BATHROOM

Our final stop is down the last hallway that leads off the kitchen.  Welcome to the bathroom.  I wanted this bathroom to feel bright and light and happy.  And I really think that goal was achieved!  This shower curtain also came from Ikea and I can’t get enough of those happy flowers!  I found the yellow wreath at Target, as well as the hanging plant feature in the collage. Some small, simple rugs on the floor and this bathroom is set!

Super sweet little collage on the bathroom wall
