A Modern Farmhouse AirBnB Studio

Welcome to the third space in the Alamo Dwellings space series! If you’ve been around the last couple months, you know I’m doing a series on all the 20+ spaces I’ve designed and hosted. I designed 5 total units at Alamo Dwellings and this is the third one.

Let’s jump into Alamo Dwelling Studio E!  This was a fun little space to put together.  The basic furniture was already in place, so I got to cozy it up a little with a rug and some wall decor.  So fun!

BEDROOM AREA

I went with a modern farmhouse design theme with this space.  The bedding and wall decor drive that theme home in the bedroom area.  The wall decor is mostly from Hobby Lobby and I just love the Stay Awhile pillow on the bed!  Some pops of a soft seagrass color on the bed really pull it all together.

A quick note about rugs:  This space did not have a rug under the bed when I inherited this project.  Isn’t it amazing how a rug can cozy up a space? It creates a soft place for your feet to land in the morning and defines an area.

By placing a rug under the bed, we did all these things and more!  When in doubt, get a rug.  It makes a world of difference!

A few decorative pieces on and around the chest of drawers emphasized the modern farmhouse feel of the space. And you can never go wrong with an oversized wall clock! This one came from Hobby Lobby.

DINING AREA

The little eat in kitchen needed some cute wall decor and a few decorative touches on top of the cabinets and refrigerator.  These things were all low-cost and created a BIG return.  Guests are much more likely to book a space that feels homey and is uniquely designed.

BATHROOM

The bathroom was the icing on the cake.  A cute shelf with some green touches above the toilet and a cute shower curtain did the trick.  We also invested in really luxurious, cozy towels.  Linens and towels are an easy way to give a space an upgrade.  We have purchased both from Costco on more than one occasion and have never regretted that choice!

AIRBNB SUCCESS STORY

This little studio did amazingly as an AirBnB. It’s now on Furnished Finder and makes for a great longer term rental. Never underestimate the power of a small studio space! Some of my BEST short term rentals have been very small and super functional. That’s exactly what Alamo Dwellings Unit E is…small and functional!

THAT’S A WRAP

And that’s the studio tour! I hope you always come away from these posts feeling inspired and motivated to make your own AirBnB dreams come true!

Stay tuned for next week’s post…I’ll be sharing about an even smaller studio space in Alamo Dwellings: Alamo Dwellings Unit F. Small space design is a fun challenge and this little space was no exception. Can’t wait to share it with you!

SIDE NOTE: Friend….I’m sure you can tell these images are not the greatest. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again…let this be an example to you of the power of professional photography. I’m not a photographer…and I wish so badly I had professional images of this space. It’s so important…make the investment! Totally worth it!
