Part Two

If you haven’t read PART ONE of this series...hit pause.  These are definitely building on each other.  Read PART ONE and then come back and join us. So glad you’re here!

For those of you who read the first part...let’s see...where was I?  Oh right.  How I entered the interior design space without any formal training…

An unexpected messenger….

I started getting curious.  I was looking into business ideas that would align with this new shift.  I had stumbled on the idea of staging real estate, but wasn’t at all sure how I’d establish myself as a “stager”.

My Mom and I took a little drive one day to a small town outside of Albuquerque: Bosque Farms.  We had heard there were some great little antique shops there and couldn’t resist.  I was at the checkout counter in one of those shops and the cashier, after some casual small talk, looks me straight in the eye and randomly (not so randomly...because nothing is a coincidence) tells me she just finished staging a house the day before and enjoyed it so much.  You guys.  I am not kidding.  I asked her how she got started doing staging and she tells me she got a certification online and then just jumped in and did it.

I got in the car to head back home with my Mom and could hardly believe what had just happened! As soon as I got home, I did a quick online search for certification programs and was signed up for Home Staging Resource by the end of the day.  I would complete this certification process and be unstoppable!  The course required some dedicated time and determination, but I got it done!

Here’s where the story really gets good.

I couldn’t help myself...I had to share on social media all about my new adventure.  I shared that I’d be getting a certification and shared photos of my home.  I got tons of great feedback and was surrounded (virtually) by so much support and encouragement.  And then I got an unexpected message in my Messenger inbox….

In next week’s post, I’ll share all the juicy details!  Stay tuned!
